Mircom CSIS-202A Issue Discovered!
Vancouver, B. C. - During the course of a fire alarm verification, we discovered several inconsistencies surrounding the "short test" response of the Mircom CSIS-202A Signal Isolater. When used in conjunction with the supervised signal output module (MIX-100S) on a Mircom FX-350 fire alarm control, problems arose which prompted us to investigate and which thankfully, yielded a solution for this customer. The following techncial bulletin (with a proposed work-around) has been issued as a result!
VERIFICATION & INSPECTION STANDARDS UPDATE!
Toronto, Ontario - The new Canadian Fire Alarm Verification Standard (CAN/ULC-S537) and the Canadian Fire Alarm Inspection Standard (CAN/ULC-S536) have now been submitted for formal Committee Review. A Ballot Review will follow and an official publication date for the new Standards will be announced shortly. Stay Tuned! |

HONEYWELL'S REALLY SHAKIN'!
Westbury, New York — Gamewell-FCI (a Honeywell Company) earned International Building Code seismic certification for their fire alarm and emergency communication systems (EVCS). The announcement also comes with a rather challenging commitment by Honeywell to have the equipment specifications obtain standing within the engineering community. Honeywell is the first fire alarm equipment manufacturer to achieve this remarkable milestone in North America (if not the world!).
